The Speed Project starts this week at the iconic Santa Monica Pier, where solo runners and relay teams will race 340 miles from the top of the Pier through the valleys of the Mojave Desert, ending at the ‘Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas’ sign.
The Speed Project garnered a reputation for being one of the most physically and mentally grueling ultramarathons in the game, attracting some of the world’s fastest athletes.
Get ready to bring the hype to Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier this Saturday for an unforgettable March Madness celebration! From 1 PM to 5 PM, Pacific Park will be buzzing with excitement featuring live music from iHeartRadio’s DJ TyeHollywood and high-energy performances by the Santa Monica College Cheer Team.

The Santa Monica Pier Ferris Wheel will be lit red on Wednesday, March 26 in recognition of Giving Day 2025.
In partnership with the American Red Cross, the Pacific Wheel will be lit red and white on the evening of March 26 in recognition of Giving Day.
Giving Day is an opportunity for local communities to come together on one day to help the families who have been impacted by a home fire or other disaster and who urgently need Red Cross services to get back on their feet.
This special lighting event will take place on the evening of Wednesday, March 26. The Ferris wheel lights can be seen from dusk until 11:35 PM each evening. Enjoy watching the light program online at www.pacpark.com/live.
The Pacific Wheel Ferris wheel will be ‘lights off’ for one hour tonight on Saturday, March 22 in recognition of Earth Hour. We will join global landmarks—including the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Parthenon in Greece, the Great Wall of China, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament in London, the Sydney Opera House in Australia, and Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong—by dimming our lights.
Earth Hour, one of the largest global grassroots movements for the environment, will virtually bring together millions of people, businesses and leaders from around the world to raise awareness on the urgent need to address nature loss and climate change.

Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier invites families and community members to join in for Heroes Day, a fun-filled afternoon celebrating local heroes and promoting safety awareness on Saturday, March 1 from 3-6 p.m.
The free event will feature a variety of activities for all ages, including appearances from beloved superhero characters, face painting, emergency preparedness kits from the Red Cross, coffee with the Santa Monica Police Department, and more.
The evening will end with a special Wheel lighting for the @redcrossla to celebrate the start of Red Cross Month.
